Soroptimist International of Hornsby meets at Pennant Hills Bowling Club on the first Wednesday evening of each month. Soroptimists’ members are women Serving the community service projects to help women and girls achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.

This month (April), we held a Bunnings BBQ to raise much needed funds for the women’s shelter. A special thank you to those people who volunteered to ‘man’ the BBQ.
Our members were also involved in organising and serving a two course meal at the DISH food van at Hornsby. The DISH is a community initiative that supplies meals for the homeless and those in need.
We helped out at the UNSEEN project in Sydney’s Martin Place. This project, led by social documentarian Belinda Mason – tells the stories of some of NSW’s homeless women, ensuring these women have a voice.
A tiny house was installed in Martin Place, and this mobile cottage will move throughout the Sydney CBD this year, acting as an ever-changing pop-up gallery and performance space.
A busy and committed group continues to support Days for Girls, raising funds and making the kits. This wonderful project supports improved health, education, and livelihoods for girls.
