Sharing a Common Goal – A Passion for Lifelong Learning

The Northholm Grammar learning community provides a space and structure for students, parents, carers and staff to align around a shared goal – to achieve success and inspire a passion for lifelong learning.

Last term, Northholm students from Kindergarten to Year 6 enjoyed an afternoon of ‘Sharing our Learning’ with their families, showcasing learning activities they have been working towards this year.

Kindergarten to Year 2 showcased how hands-on and practical learning enhances skills and strategies across a range of Key Learning Areas. The classrooms were a hive of activity as students identified letters with fly swatters, went on scavenger hunts for nouns and prepared fruit salad.

Years 3 and 4 demonstrated their literary skills by testing parents’ knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar and writing limerick poetry. Years 5 and 6 students hosted a myriad of activities involving both technology and written work, highlighting inquiry skills gained through research and projects. During the last week of term, the School was proud to host the Primary Years Public Speaking Competition Grand Final. We were honoured to have Federal Member for Berowra, Mr Julian Leeser MP as special guest on the judging panel along with Principal Bradbury and Head of Humanities, Ms Birch.

Congratulations to all students who participated and a huge round of applause to the winners of each division:

Early Stage 1 – Imogen McTaggart Pate
Stage 2 – Adrien Batar
Stage 3 – Amelia Grindley

Northholm’s Primary Years look forward to commencing Term 2 with increased rigour, determination and a thirst for learning.
