Probus Ponderings: Bowling Along Before Back in Lockdown Again

For the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook June finished with a bang, well technically a bowl, before things went pear-shaped. We were fortunate to squeeze in the second session of Ten Pin Bowling and lunch on the Friday before lockdown.

Once again this session provided us with plenty of laughs which doesn’t always help the bowling but does wonder for the disposition. Our masks possibly helped hide the embarrassment and occasional disappointment at the ease with which gutters were found and the fact that bowling balls take little notice of wishing, hoping and waving!

Our July 1st meeting saw a return to zoom with good numbers logging in for fun and laughter through adversity. Naturally, all events are currently on hold with the exception of those that can occur remotely but activity leaders continue to plan to be up and running once things open up again. The lockdown is a little like life in retirement – no point looking back at what might have been just focusing on the future with anticipation of what is yet to come.

If you are an able bodied, semi-retired or retired couple and have promised yourselves to get out, meet new people and have new experiences the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook could be for you.

Our meetings are usually held at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre on the first Thursday of the month.
