Pathways Community Counselling Clinic awarded Australia Post Community Grant

Pathways Community Counselling Clinic has been awarded a grant of $2,000 as part of Australia Post’s 2021 Community Grants Program for its work to improve mental health and wellbeing in Galston, NSW.

The grant will fund their Community Counselling Programs project, a series of free mental health and wellbeing workshops delivered by psychologists and counsellors for the community.

The workshops will cover topics such as art therapy, mental health exercises and community building initiatives to connect the local community and provide strategies to maximise wellbeing.

Pathways Community Counselling Clinic is one of 76 community organisations across the country to receive a 2021 Australia Post Community Grant of up to $10,000.

For the second consecutive year, the grants program reinforces Australia Post’s commitment to mental health by funding projects that help improve connection and mental wellbeing in local communities.

Australia Post also supports mental health through its partnership with Beyond Blue.

Australia Post Head of Community Nicky Tracey said she was delighted to support projects making a real difference to health and wellbeing, with recipients based in every state and territory and half of the projects in regional and remote communities.

“This has been another challenging year for many Australians and we know that when we connect with others. we feel better which is why the Community Grants program is so important in helping communities build better connections and mental wellbeing,” she said.

“It’s also an incredibly diverse group of worthy recipients, supporting groups such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, people with a disability or care commitments, LGBTIQ+ communities, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and seniors.”.
