SPOTLIGHT ON GREEK ISLES, WEDNESDAY 18 MAY 12PM
After the 2020 and 2021 success of their ‘Festa Italiano’ regional menu lunches Allegro is throwing the culinary spotlight on the largest group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea: The Greek Isles – Estimated to number between 1200 and 6000 depending on the minimum size to take into account.
The Greek Isles are a culinary minihistory of the Eastern Mediterranean focusing on seafood, not surprisingly. Dishes from some of the most popular islands like Santorini, Mykonos and Paros and some tiny ones like Kythnos, will be highlighted for this luncheon.
Most of the islands have a long history of civilisation, cuisines and culture, having been invaded throughout the centuries, every island now has a unique cuisine speciality.
Chef Kay Torta and Sous-chef Josh Inwood are designing a menu to demonstrate authentic Greek cuisine from the islands for the first in our series of Allegro Regional Menu Lunchs for 2022. Festa Grecia, A Greek Odyssey luncheon: 12pm Wednesday 18 May.
