Festa Italiana Regional Menu Luncheon At Allegro: Spotlight On Liguria

After three superb Festa Italiana regional lunches we now move to one of the most picturesque regions in Italy stunning coastal region of Liguria. Starting with the incredible ‘ UNESCO World Heritage’ listed Cinque Terra region at the southern end and heading north past Sestri Levante [the newest hot spot] onto picture postcard Portofino, then to the uber trendy Comogli with its prestigious naval college “Cristoforo Colombo” Further north is the region’s capital Genoa. Historically one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean stretching to San Remo with the region ending at the border with France near Ventimiglia.

Liguria is most famous for Pesto sauce, Focaccia alle Cipolle, Pansoti, a type of ravioli, Buridda is a seafood stew, Frittelle di baccalà, with Latte Dolce Fritto and Sacripantina the most popular desserts of the region.

Chef David Camwell will be preparing a menu showcasing authentic dishes of the region, for the fourth event in our series of Allegro Italian regional menu lunches.
