ACCESSING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
New English and Mathematics syllabuses for the State’s youngest students has been released, marking a major milestone in the NSW Government’s Curriculum Reform Agenda.

The new K-2 syllabus will include:
• Simple, concise language which identifies key knowledge and skills
• Clear expectations on student reading progression
• Renewed focus on handwriting
• New supports for students with significant intellectual disability
• Emphasis on ‘reasoning’ in mathematics
• Advanced counting strategies

The reformed curriculum will be delivered to schools on a new Digital Curriculum platform, as part of a $13.6 million NSW Government investment.

Implementation will begin in 2022, with all NSW schools teaching the syllabuses from 2023.

FLAMMABLE CLADDING SUPPORT FOR STRATA COMMUNITIES
Eligible strata communities are encouraged to register their interest online for Project Remediate, the NSW Government program to remediate flammable cladding on high-risk, residential apartment buildings known to the NSW Cladding Taskforce.

Project Remediate is an opt-in program supporting owners corporations with 10-year interest free loans and quality assurance and program management services, delivered by experienced remediation professionals.

By registering interest, eligible owners corporations can have their buildings assessed and a remediation design prepared before deciding to commit to the interest-free loan and remediation package.

COMMUNITY ROAD SAFETY GRANTS
Round seven of the Community Road Safety Grants Program is now open to community groups and charity / not-forprofit organisations to deliver local safety projects.

Grants of up to $5000 are available for road safety projects that involve community engagement. These projects should improve road safety awareness in local communities.

Larger grants of up to $30,000 are also available. Detailed project plans will need to be provided for these grants, showing expenditure, project stages and time frames.

Applications are open until 4.00pm on Wednesday December 15, 2021.
