Community Sponsorship Program Applications Open for 2026/27

Community Sponsorship Program

Community Sponsorship Program round one has opened for 2026/27, and if your club or group has been putting off the paperwork, October is your month. Applications can be made from October 1 to October 31, 2026, so there is time, but not forever.

Here is the short version for anyone who needs to explain it at Thursday’s meeting. Hawkesbury Council is looking for passionate individuals, teams and organisations, and it is hoping for a good variety of projects this time around.

If your group runs workshops or a support circle, or does something that gets people out of the house and talking to each other, Resilient Hawkesbury is worth a look. It offers up to $3,000 to community organisations helping the area become more connected, healthy, inclusive and resilient.

If you have a young swimmer, a dancer, a debater or a whole squad heading to a state, national or international sporting or cultural event as the Hawkesbury’s representatives, the Participation category is for you. It pays $150 to an individual and $750 to a team of five or more.

If your group is a not-for-profit based in the Hawkesbury or serving people who live here, and your biggest regular expense is the hall, Access to Community Facilities may ease the strain. It covers half the cost of hiring a Council or community facility, up to a maximum contribution of $750.

One bit of advice before anyone starts typing: read the Community Sponsorship Program Strategy Document, the assessment matrix and the FAQs first. It will save you back-and-forth later.

Everything is on Council’s community funding page at https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/for-residents/community/community-funding. For questions, Community Planning and Partnerships is on 4560 4444 or [email protected].
