Nominated Pairs Tournament 2026

By the time the Nominated Pairs Tournament reached its last stage, the matches had been close enough that nobody on the greens could take anything for granted. Weeks of tight games have narrowed the field to four bowlers. On Saturday, 19th September 2026, Stuart Yeend and Phil Laing will line up against Graeme Giles and Rob Whiddon for the Big Match.

Finals like this tend to mean something to a club beyond the result. These are four members who earned their place through rounds of hard-fought bowls, and the club has been quick to congratulate them. Whoever walks off the green on the 19th, the standard of the lead-up has already given members plenty to talk about.

The season keeps moving after that. The women’s players get their turn first, with the Women’s Major Singles starting on 6th October 2026. The men follow with the Men’s Major Singles on 24th October 2026. Both are the club’s premium singles events, and both are still ahead of the end-of-year finish line.

Spring also brings the carnivals, and the club says they always lift the mood around the greens. The Carnival Triples on 28th September has the Dural Club as its sponsor. The Carnival Pairs on 26th October is backed by Living Choice. Between the two, there is a lot of bowling to look forward to.

Then there are the pennants players, who have been quietly getting on with it. The club’s two teams have played two of their six rounds, and the results so far are a mixed bag. There have been tough battles and good manners shown on the greens. With four rounds left, there is a lot still to play for, and the club is behind both teams.

Anyone who has watched from the sidelines and wondered about giving it a go has an easy way in. Qualified coaches are offering free lessons. Rob Whiddon, who will also be on the green for the final, is the person to call on 0411 375 580.
