Wilberforce Park sits quietly in the middle of a suburb that doesn’t always get much attention, and maybe that’s exactly why this matters.
Hawkesbury City Council has opened up a conversation about the park’s future, with community input accepted from 1 June through to 28 June 2026.
The process is straightforward. Council is developing a Plan of Management — essentially a long-term rulebook for how the park gets looked after, what kinds of activities are allowed, and where any future improvements might go. To do that well, they need to hear from the people who actually use the place.
And people do use it. Wilberforce Park is one of those neighbourhood green spaces that don’t make headlines but quietly do a lot of work — during school holidays, weekend afternoons, and the odd morning walk.
The council wants feedback on how it’s being used now, what people love about it, and what they’d change if they could.
There’s a pop-up event at Wilberforce Shops on Thursday, 11 June, between 11 am and 1 pm for anyone who’d rather have a face-to-face conversation.
Alternatively, submissions go through the council’s Have Your Say website at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au, by email to [email protected], or by post to PO Box 046, Windsor NSW 2756. The deadline is the close of business, 28 June 2026.
