Sydney’s north-west has its own World Cup home this year, and it doesn’t require a drive into the city.
Market Square at Rouse Hill Town Centre will screen all daytime 2026 FIFA World Cup fixtures from Friday 12 June to Monday 20 July — every match starting from 7:00am broadcast live on the big screen, directly opposite Rouse Hill Metro Station. The Hills Shire Council has partnered with the centre to run the fan zone, building on the success of a similar setup during the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
For Socceroos fans, two games matter most. Australia’s opening match against Turkey screens at 2 pm on Sunday, 14 June — a weekend afternoon slot that makes it easy to come with family or friends. The second group fixture, Australia versus Paraguay, is at 12 pm on Friday 26 June. Both are at Market Square, Rouse Hill Town Centre.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said the World Cup presented an unmissable opportunity to bring the community together.
“Nothing unites our community quite like cheering on the Socceroos and we are thrilled to give Hills residents the chance to come together and celebrate Australia,” Mayor Byrne said.
“The fixture schedule has been kind to us, and we have two incredible timeslots for Australia games, with the Socceroos opening game against Turkey scheduled for 2pm on Sunday 14 June.
“Thousands of Hills residents created an electric atmosphere when we partnered with Rouse Hill Town Centre on the 2023 Women’s World Cup live site. We hope to repeat those scenes this year.
“I want to see Hills residents out in force in the bustling town centre, with loud voices and draped in green and gold, ready to cheer on the Socceroos.”
Rouse Hill Town Centre Manager, Ben Simpson-Morgan, said the Centre is excited to welcome the community to cheer on their teams across a range of fixtures.
“Rouse Hill Town Centre is proud to be the home of World Cup fever in Sydney’s north-west,” Mr Simpson-Morgan said.
“We’re creating an unforgettable atmosphere where the entire community – whether you’re cheering for the Socceroos or supporting your favourite nation – can experience the passion and excitement here in Market Square.”
