Country Style of Living With Everything Within Reach

A property that helped to put the ‘round’ into an area of Dural known as ‘Round Corner’, recently fetched $2.71m under the hammer through Lumby Hampson.

The unique listing, located at 699-703 Old Northern Rd, features renovated Federation home with its own separate art gallery and a granny flat. It attracted five bidders when auctioned for the first time in 35 years.

Round Corner Living Style

“We had a lot of investors also looking at it with potential rental income. In the end, a local extended family combined together to secure the property attracted by multiple living options,” said agent Will Hampson.

According to Hornsby Shire Council, Round Corner earned its nickname because of a large bend taken by Old Northern Rd, which is still evident today. The area is now better known today for its local shopping centre.

While buyers are drawn to the Dural for its luxury lifestyle estates, agent Kate Lumby said properties within close proximity to Round Corner have added appeal.

“You still have the charm of semi-rural living with the convenience of the local shopping centre, city buses and sought after nearby schools such as Hills Grammar and Marian College,” she said.

“We’ve also seen a number of new restaurants and wine bars open up in Round Corner, so it is really becoming a destination in its own right.”

A four bedroom family home set on 2ha less than five minutes to Round Corner has been attracting strong interest ahead of its upcoming auction. The property at 60 Kenthurst Rd, Dural, opposite Hills Grammar, is set to sell through Lumby Hampson on May 14 at 10am.
