The Rotary Club held a very successful Annual Giant Book Sale on 6th, 7th and 8th March at the Uniting Church at Cherrybrook.
This is the Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we had a record number of books. Amazing bargains were found on high-quality books, original CDs, DVDs, records, and sheet music. Proceeds from the Book Sale will be going to Mental Health Research and other Rotary charities.
Members of our Club assisted Goods Rescued and Rehomed in preparing goods for shipping to the Pacific area. A shipping container was cleaned out and reorganised. Amongst goods being distributed were many heaters now on their way to Indigenous communities.
The Club got involved in another community service in building shelves at the Helping Hearts Survive store. Helping Hearts Survive is a community charity in Dural that supports those in need through various initiatives, including providing food hampers and selling second-hand goods.
A regular program of lawn mowing, line trimming and pruning is carried out by members at several transitional houses at Kenthurst.
Another successful BBQ was held at Bunnings Castle Hill on Monday, 27th April, with all proceeds going to Rotary charities. Our next BBQ at Bunnings Castle Hill will be on Saturday, 6th June.
