March brought a month of change for the Probus Club of Cherrybrook Combined with the annual changeover lunch held this year at Springfield House, Dural.
Due to the cancellation of last year’s event amid the first Covid lockdown, this year’s celebration was three times the fun with segments devoted to Past President Lynn Pamplin reflecting on 2019-2020 and Outgoing President Peter Wilson overviewing the unprecedented year of 2020- 2021 expressing his regret at choosing the theme ‘Life is Full of Challenges – Make the Most of Them’ as this well summed up the past year.
Incoming President Janine Drummond was escorted to the stage as is tradition (at least for the past 14 years) by Sir Andrew of Chivaldom. President Janine reflected on the continued strength of the club and its membership and outlined her vision to maintain the 3Fs of Friendship, Fellowship and Fun. Member attendance was high with all in good voice bringing much chatter and laughter.
Our upcoming April events include our meeting return to the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre, Ten Pin Bowling, Mt Annan Botanic Gardens walk and visits to the Premier’s Gala Concert and the Museum of Fire at Penrith.
If you are an able bodied, semi-retired or retired couple and have promised yourselves to get out, meet new people and have new experiences the Probus Club of Cherrybrook Combined could be for you.
