Probus Ponderings

Members of the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook began the month with a visit to Brislington, just a short bus trip away to Parramatta, but far from today’s modern world.

Brislington is the oldest existing dwelling house in inner Parramatta and since 1983 has been a medical and nursing museum. The guides enlightened us as to the way medicine used to be practised and some aspects made us very grateful to be living in 2022! We partook in a delightful Happy Hour, (actually several hours), enjoying good food, beverages and company. More merriment ensued at a full of fun Melbourne Cup Luncheon with some very happy winners and as always some also rans.

To balance out all this fine food and drink we went Ten Pin Bowling and pushed through a picturesque walk around Long Reef Headland, perhaps training for our trip to NZ. A fabulous outing to see the progress of the airport site at Badgery’s Creek was a real eye-opener.

Every month has regular activities of book, craft, garden and games groups and various sports including bowls, tennis and golf.

If you are an able bodied, semi-retired or retired couple and have promised yourselves to get out, meet new people and have new experiences please come and visit.

We meet at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre on the first Thursday of each month. For information contact Ross on 04 1110 4863. We look forward to warmly welcoming you to our Probus Club to share the good times.
