Probus club Ponderings – Let the Good Times Roll

February has kick-started the new Probus year for the members of the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook. Our interest groups are up and running, catering to a variety of member pastimes including golf, bowls, craft, theatre parties, garden lovers, diners’ group, investments, books and happy hour gatherings.

We have recently enjoyed two thought-provoking guest speakers, Hans Kunnen who shared his experiences in New York during 9/11 and Martin Thomas, who outlined the use of nuclear power in Australia’s energy needs.

Some of our special events have included a social drive followed by lunch at Tractor 828 at Ebenezer, a Summertime special of fish and chips at Berowra Waters and a delightful walk around Parramatta Park.

Upcoming events include a much-anticipated trip to Victoria to view the ‘Silos’, the Premier’s Gala Concert, a garden lovers’ outing to Ku-Ring-Gai Wild Flower Garden, a theatre production of the Castle Hill Players and evening dining.

If you are an able-bodied, semi-retired or retired couple and have promised yourselves to get out, meet new people and have new experiences the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook could be for you.

Our meetings are held at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre on the first Thursday of each month. For up to date information please contact Ross on 0411104863. We look forward to warmly welcoming you to our Probus Club to share the good times.
