Sydney to Hobart Legend Speaks at Upcoming Probus Activities.
At our next Probus meeting (May 13th) we will be privileged to have Lindsay May speaking. Lindsay is a veteran of 50 consecutive Sydney Hobart races (a record), mostly as a navigator.
Lindsay will talk about the changes he has observed over 51 years and some of the highlights of this world-renowned ocean racing classic that attracts competitors from across the globe. He has been the winner of the Tattersalls Cup 3 times (twice as a navigator and once as a skipper)
He has also sailed in all the world’s leading ocean races. His presentation includes video and sound that should give some feel as to what it’s like out there. I heard Lindsay talk at a large mixed function (just after one of the tragic races) and the whole audience was enthralled.
If you would like to come and hear Lindsay, he will be speaking at our Probus Club meeting on May 13th at 9.45am. We meet at Cherrybrook Uniting Church Hall. 124 New Line Road, Cherrybrook NSW 2126. If you would like to come, please contact Dick Bushell [email protected] or ring 0423 343 565
