“And the winner is”… booms Marty Fields from ‘Hey Hey It’s Saturday’ notoriety in a voice that engages the 300 plus crowd… “Metal Masters”. For Shaun Clancy the proprietor of Metal Masters, a specialist metal roofing contractor based in the Hills District, the award was met with significant excitement.

This announcement was being made on Friday 18th November at a black tie function at the Hyatt Regency to recognise excellence in workmanship by roofing contractors’ right across NSW. Hosted by the Metal Roofing Association of NSW it encompasses a broad spectrum of work including commercial buildings, architecturally designed buildings, multi-density developments, public works and more.

The Glenorie home is situated in one of the newer small cluster acreage developments and has commanding views across towards Richmond from the upper balcony. The home is a joint collaboration between husband and wife Matthew and Rebecca, with Matthew using his background as a commercial builder, and Rebecca’s expertise as a designer ensuring the flair and overall build looks spectacular. “It’s a dream in the making for us” they explained, being able to build a home with room to raise our family and enjoy the advantages that semirural lifestyle have to offer.

Proprietor of Metal Masters Shaun Clancy, who was understandably very excited with the win said “the roof design used Trimdek roof sheeting with contrasting Monument and Surfmist colours to create a unique and eye-catching finish. It incorporates numerous skylights, box gutters, and an extensive amount of flashing work. Judges commented the level of detail and considerable effort that went into the installation really caught their attention, and ultimately resulted in it taking out a win in the $50k residential category.

“These Awards are hosted annually and are very important for us, but at the same time very humbling when being recognized as the highest accolade our industry affords. Just as important is the passion and pride we take in our work, and that all the guys that work for me can be extremely proud of what they have achieved” said Mr Clancy.
