Kenthurst Probus Club

Kenthurst Probus returned after the Christmas break with its first monthly club meeting for 2024 on Monday 15th January.

Members heard a talk by Chris Darcy a representative of Rescue Dogs, whose members assist in locating and if possible recovering persons who for one reason or another have gone missing: one recent activity was in endeavoring to find a man missing in the Galston Gorge area.

Dogs are trained to use their acute senses to search (with a handler) to try and locate missing persons. Chris was assisted by the presence of one of their trained animals: (appropriately named K9): rescue animals are usually very friendly towards humans: and K9 was no exception.

Kenthurst Probus has a rather full schedule of activities for 2024: Sydney Town Hall Concerts, fish ‘n chip lunches, regular walking events.

There is a trip organized for a three day excursion to Jindabyne in March, and a visit to Mudgee and the Central West later in the year is in the planning phase.

Probus meets at 9.30am on the third Monday of every month (except December) at the Kenthurst Uniting Church building: guests are always welcome.
