Join the Local Probus Club for Meetings and Outings

Every second Monday, something quietly dependable happens in Galston. At 9:30 am, members of the local Probus club pull into The Galston Club carpark, greet each other by name, and settle in for a morning that manages to be both organised and genuinely enjoyable.

The meeting itself runs through reports from the club’s special interest groups, Movie, Tennis, Scrabble, Book, Craft, and Theatre — before moving to upcoming events, outings, and lunches.

A guest speaker rounds out the morning. It’s a simple enough structure, but regulars will tell you the real value is in what happens around the agenda: the catch-ups, the shared laughs, the slow accumulation of friendship that comes from showing up to the same room, month after month.

This month’s talking point was the Sunshine Coast trip, five days that took members through Montville and Maleny, along the Noosa River on a lunch cruise, through the Ginger Factory, and out to Australia Zoo. Flights from Sydney, accommodation, most meals, and day tours were all included. Nobody had to think too hard about logistics. That was the point.

Visitors are welcome to sit in on a meeting and see for themselves. Contact The Round Corner Dural Probus Club at [email protected] or call Lei on 0412 585 741.
