International Womens Day 2021 At Cherrybrook Greenpark Oval

Sydney Community Group is a not for profit registered Inc with a team of dedicated women volunteers working in various fields and has been supporting local community activities covering various suburbs in Sydney.

March is a month for women. This belief was strongly recognised and appreciated by our sponsor SoftLabs Pty Ltd and its CEO Sreeni Pillamarri JP and Paul Mackenzie, Principal of ABS Property Conveyancers.

Sydney Community Group, SoftLabs and Cherrybrook community joined hands together to celebrate the IWD 2021 on Sunday Feb 21st at Greenpark Oval, Cherrybrook. It was a great gathering well attended by SCG volunteers, local community from Cherrybrook, supported by local business Baker’s Delight Cherrybrook, Leaf n Root, ABS Property Conveyancers and Woolworths.

One of the youngest volunteers of SCG Samyuta Pillamarri and Vaibhavi Joshi, Vice President of SCG kick started the event with a warm welcome. Beautiful captures of smiling faces were clicked by ibalzclick, a photography session for women volunteers proudly supported by SoftLabs Pty Ltd.

Baker’s Delight Cherrybrook acknowledged and recognised SCG for all the support given to local business. Food for the event was proudly supported by Baker’s Delight. SCG also supported a Food Drive initiative run by a local Cherrybrook community volunteer, Shikha Agarwal for Food Bank, NSW. The products for the Food Drive were proudly supported by Woolworths, Schofields. Local Cherrybrook supporters Lakshmi Pillamarri and Sangeeta Agarwal were acknowledged for their contribution to the Cherrybrook community.Local supporters David Close,Cherrybrook RFS was acknowledged for his contribution to Santarun fundraiser collaborating with SCG. Jessica Thy,Marketing Manager of Cherrybrook Village was also acknowledged for her contribution and support through local shopping village.

A Book Drive initiative for kids aged 3-10 years whose parents are in correctional services, which is currently run by SCG was well outlined by Team SCG President Indu Harikrishna. “Even if you spend 5 minutes of your time to the community, do it wholeheartedly and stress-free” was the message conveyed to women volunteers by Team SCG President. A small cake cutting added a value to highlight the womens’ achievements made by Team SCG volunteers.

Acknowledgements to Ms Jane Li, a well known community representative, a women group supporter and entrepreneur and Parveen, a beauty pageant who was the first Indian Finalist to Miss International Australia all added value to the event by their presence.

Team SCG website is under construction and SCG volunteer Parin Pillamarri, an IT student at Macquarie University is currently working on it. Ahalya Rentala, Team SCG Secretary acknowledged everyone for their presence through her valuable vote of thanks message.
