Galston Concerts – Brave New World

It’s definite – not the news we wanted but the wiser, cautious option:

The Galston Concerts final program for 2021, the Galston Gala, scheduled for 21 November in Galston Uniting Church, has been postponed.

Public health constraints until 1 December and hesitancy to return to ‘crowd scene’ concerts too soon, apparent from an audience mini-survey, have prompted the concerts team to close the book on another frustrating year. Looking forward to a brave new world won’t be too hard – programs postponed from 2021 are already slotting into dates for concerts in 2022.

Galston’s customary ‘late or last’ Sunday afternoons in alternate months see 27 March, 29 May, 24 or 31 July, 18 September and 20 November locking in as the concert dates for your 2022 diary. The team will also be considering special events to make up for concerts lost in recent times.

‘Music for a summer’s eve’ twilight recitals in January and February may allow audiences to break back gently to the idea of concerts and the Galston Uniting Church historic Forster & Andrews pipe organ may feature in celebratory musicales after Easter and before Christmas – that’s Christmas 2022!
