Dural & District Business Chamber End of Financial Year Evening

By Mark Coupar

Thursday 15th June saw the Dural Chamber hold an evening for local business owners at “The Centre” in Dural.

The night centered on the importance of small business being across all aspects of their end of financial year obligations.

On the night we had Keryn Stack our amazing BAS expert talking all things BAS and Business Banking, Joanne Lin from ANZ Banking and Business & Learning consultant Michael Parker.

Over 20 local business owners attended the night; half of these were home based businesses, and the event was a great networking opportunity.

One of the great take-outs from the presentations was from Michael: that the common problem of working AT your business means you are not working ON your business. Owners need to invest time ON their businesses for a better future and learn what financial levers need to be used to build awareness around cash flow.

Keryn from Accounts All Sorted focused on 4 key areas that get businesses into trouble: Lack of financial visibility; Ignoring financial indicators; Reactive rather than proactive management; and Missed opportunities.

Joanne Lin from ANZ finance gave valuable insights into lending opportunities that are available to small business and startups.

Wishing all our local businesses a Happy New Financial Year, and may all your resolutions come true!
