Dural & District Business Chamber End Of Financial Year Evening

Dural & District Business Chamber End Of Financial Year Evening

Thursday 15 June saw the Dural Chamber hold an evening for local business owners at “The Centre” 1 Pellitt Lane Dural, centred on the importance of small business being across all aspects of their end of financial year obligations.

Over 20 local business owners attended the night with half of these being home based businesses and proved to be a great networking opportunity.

Guest speakers included Keryn Stack our amazing BAS expert talking all things BAS, ANZ Business Banking Joanne Lin and Michael Parker, business and learning consultant.

Keryn Stack from Accounts All Sorted focused on four key areas that get businesses into trouble: lack of financial visibility; ignoring financial indicators; reactive rather than pro active management; and missed opportunities.

One of the great take-outs from the presentations was from Michael Parker: it’s a common problem to work at your business (on the tools) rather than on your business, ie: structuring your business for a better future and what financial levers need to be used to build awareness around cash flow.

Joanne Lin from ANZ finance gave valuable insights into lending opportunities that are available to small business and startups.
