Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Dural team. We hope everyone had a great festive season and we look forward to a great year ahead.

Santa Run
Just before Christmas last year, Dural held its annual Santa Run. Members accompanied Santa around the streets of Dural in our Category 1 tanker, handing out lollies and taking photos with families along the way. It was a great experience for our members to get into the Christmas spirit and out into the community. We always love putting smiles on kids’ faces during these events.

We would like to thank all of the families who came out to say hi to Santa and made it one of our biggest Santa runs to date. We would also like to thank Sydney’s Christmas Barn at Dural for donating a number of Christmas decorations for our trucks as well as our newest member Smokey the Koala.

Training in the New Year
During January Dural got right back into our training following the holiday period. We began the year with a joint training night with Cherrybrook Rural Fire Brigade. Crews responded to a series of different training exercises involving bush fires, structure fires and car accidents. This involved the coordination of four fire trucks and 23 crew members to respond to the rapidly evolving incidents.

It was a great way to dust out the cobwebs following the break and work with teams from one of our neighbouring brigades.
