Combined Probus Club: A bunch of our Members enjoyed a four day bus excursion to Canberra in September, taking in a lot of the sights including the Floriade Exhibition, the War Memorial and the radio astronomy site.
Closer to home, in early October a smaller group made its way to Ebenezer, to visit the oldest existing church building in Australia: the Ebenezer Uniting Church.
Being built in 1808, it has outlasted earlier constructions in this country and is a credit to the current congregation. Kenthurst Probians were treated to a morning tea with scones and jam, followed by a guided tour and history of the buildings: always a church, but once partly used as a school.
Our October meeting was addressed by Ramon Rees who spoke of the Japanese Midget Submarine attack on Sydney Harbour in World War Two.
Kenthurst Probus meets at 9.30am on the third Monday of each month, and guests are always welcome.
