As the saying goes, it’s wise “not to get between a man and a good feed”, and this was proven once again recently when the men of DURAL MEN’S SHED took part in THE BIG MORNING TEA.
So it was, that all the small men’s polo shirts were stretched to the limit as we did justice to the wonderful spread of cakes put on by shed members and their families.
However, we were justified in that this was all in a good cause in the spirit of THE BIG MORNING TEA in raising money for cancer research.
There was $1300 raised on the day with plenty more still to come.
This subject is very dear to the heart as several of the shed blokes are each battling a personal journey with cancer, so it was in this way a show of support for them.
In this way also, the shed has set up a support structure whereby men keep in touch with each other to encourage with the motto “looking out for each other” and blokes openly say that in just being there with mates at the shed is a tonic.
Main shed days are Thursdays whilst on Wednesday we host a group of enthusiastic fellows from WARRAH and on Fridays we mentor a group of boys from GALSTON HIGH who are aiming to get into a trade.
