Three outstanding local Year 11 students have been selected to represent the Hornsby Electorate as part of the 2025 YMCA Youth Parliament.
Taylor Chilwell from Cherrybrook Technology High School, Alyssa Pinchbeck from Pennant Hills High School, and Abby Pistachia from St. Leo’s Catholic College are joining almost 90 other students from across the State to take part in the program.
Taylor and Abby are developing a Bill on the Women’s Affairs Committee, while Alyssa is developing a Bill as part of the Aboriginal Affairs Committee.
Students participate in Youth Parliament over the course of 6 months. The program includes training on leadership and policy development, a Youth Parliament Training Camp in the Easter holidays, and writing Bills with other participants from across the State during Term 2.
The culmination of the program is a week-long mock sitting week in NSW Parliament House during July.
