CWA Galston sewers and crafters work throughout the year, making everything from neonatal humidicrib blankets to joey pouches (for orphaned or abandoned marsupials) and anything in between, helping the community where it’s needed in small but meaningful ways.
This year the Galston ladies have been sewing dog coats for the Rescue Resource Winter Warmers Appeal.
Rescue Resource-NSW provides support to animal rescue organisations and pounds across NSW by sourcing essential pet-related items and distributing them at no cost.
The annual Winter Warmers Tour runs from March – June each year.
A dedicated team of volunteers work tirelessly before and during the Winter Warmers Tour to ensure they can help as many of our furry friends as possible. CWA Galston was only too glad to help by donating handmade dog coats towards the appeal.
As we are smack bang in the middle of what seems to be a particularly cold winter, there is no better time to rethink the needs of our fur babies. It is so important to make sure pets have warm bedding and sufficient shelter to protect them from the elements.
And spare a thought for those poor pound puppies too. Please visit http://www.rescueresourcensw.com.au/ to make a donation or help towards their wish list. A big thank you to Rescue Resource for all the amazing work they do. Keep up to date with all their efforts at https://www.facebook. com/RescueResourceNSW/.
If you are interested in learning more about the ways in which CWA is helping to make a difference, please come along to our next meeting on Wednesday 14th July and see what we’re all about.
