The West Pennant Hills Sports Club Bowls is on the lookout for new members eager to learn and play lawn bowls. This welcoming initiative invites people of all ages—between 8 and 80—to participate, regardless of their skill level.
Located at the West Pennant Hills Sports Club, situated at 103 New Line Road, the club boasts two greens. While one green is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to be operational later this month, the second green will follow suit once the first is complete.
The club offers both social and competitive bowling for players ranging from novices to seasoned bowlers. For those new to the game, accredited coaches are available to provide guidance and support.
Social bowling sessions are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, beginning at 10:30 AM during daylight saving time and at 12:30 PM in the remaining months. Additionally, club members can enjoy free “Barefoot Bowls” from Thursdays to Sundays, starting at 4 PM.
Throughout the year, the club hosts various social activities, such as a Christmas party, presentation evenings, and BBQs. A highlight of the calendar is the annual Travelling Bowlers trip, held each October. This year’s destination is Wagga, with past trips including Cairns, Norfolk Island, Tasmania, and various towns throughout regional New South Wales. Participants can expect to stay at a single location, play three games against local clubs, and enjoy numerous sightseeing activities.
