Tools for Hiring Employee

Are you ready to hiring employees? There are many things you need to know, and thankfully some new tools released are making this process easier!

TWO GREAT NEW BUSINESS.GOV.AU EMPLOYMENT TOOLS
Business.gov.au is a one-stop shop for Government support about business matters. Apart from from finding out about wage subsidies (there are a few on offer), you can now go here for the Hiring Employees Checklist https:// business.gov.au/people/employees/hiring-employees. You can go through the checklist, refer to the links and print or email the checklist to yourself for your records.

The second new tool is an Employment Contract generator (including a letter of offer). This is a great tool (https://business.gov.au/people/employees/create-an-employmentcontract) and so useful to small businesses to help get their records in order. You will still need to create your position description, for which you can grab a template from Fair Work.

FAIR WORK
Fair Work is still your go-to for all things awards (a 2.5% pay increase has been approved for the 2021/2022 year but is being deferred for some Covid affected industries), plus lots of templates and guides.

OTHER EMPLOYEE CHANGES
Super Guarantee goes up to 10% from 1 July 2021. Make sure your pay runs will reflect this. Casual workers must now be issued the Casual Employment Information Statement in addition to the Fair Work Information Statement. Employees can ask to be moved from casual to permanent in certain circumstances and to Hiring Employee casually certain conditions must be met.

Subscribe to the relevant government mailing lists to ensure you know about changes being made!
