Tons of E-waste Collected

Did you know that approximately 88 per cent of computers and TVs in Australia will end up in landfill, but 98 per cent of their parts can be fully recycled?

More than 1000 residents dropped off old computers, televisions and accessories at this year’s electronic waste collection at the Castle Hill Showground.

The event was the largest held in The Hills with 1373 cars, compared to 1081 in 2021, and an estimated 35-40 tonnes of e-waste collected.

A total of 74% of residents said the desire to recycle was the main motivator for attending.

Find out about a range of other recycling opportunities, including batteries, CDs and printer cartridges by visiting the Council’s website and searching for ‘Recycling Directory’.
