“The Real Secret River – Dyarubbin”
An afternoon with Special Guest Speaker Dr Grace Karskens.

Please come and join the members of the Dharug and Lower Hawkesbury Society as we celebrate the 40 th Anniversary of our first meeting held at the Wesleyan Chapel in Gunderman on Saturday 25 th March 2023. Come and have a relaxing time after completing your voting earlier in the day.

As befitting such an auspicious day we are pleased to welcome Dr Grace Karskens as our guest speaker for the afternoon. Dr Karskens’ highly acclaimed publication People of the River – Lost worlds of Early Australia is the result of her studies of Dyarubbin – (Hawkesbury/Nepean Rivers) and it’s peoples from the earliest settlers. Grace will be speaking about her research and her discoveries and work with the indigenous groups in the area.

We will be having a High Tea complete with an anniversary cake of course.

Time:-1.30pm.
Place:- Wesleyan Chapel, 6445 Wisemans Ferry Road, Gunderman.
Grace will commence her talk at 1.30pm and afternoon tea will be served afterwards.
Cost:- $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
