The Galston Concerts To Return – With Stars!

Now it’s ‘Ready, Set … Go!’ for The Galston Concerts, with an array of young stars to feature in the return to live ‘shows’ on 27 March.

That Sunday afternoon ‘reunion’ in Galston Uniting Church will commence with an organ prelude from 1.30pm before the 2pm concert showcases piano, trumpet, strings and winds – a prizewinners young performers Galston Gala.

Leading the line-up will be multi-skilled local talent Jack Theakston, as cellist of the award-winning Piccolo String Quartet, and as organist, hosting the prelude, shared with another prizewinner, Bailey Yeates.

The Piccolos and the Bartholdy Piano Trio will perform as winners of The Galston Concerts Awards at Musica Viva Australia’s 2021 Strike A Chord national championships for secondary school ensembles.

Featured will be music by great Classical composers, Josef Haydn and Mendelssohn, who were themselves youthful super-talents.

Young trumpeter Jade Park will reprise her Sydney Eisteddfod and Rising Stars solo successes.

The Castle Hill RSL North West Wind Ensemble, perennial winners of State and national band championships, will contribute their Clarinet Quintet to close the concert with a Disney Medley.

If 27 March sees the crowds returning to live concerts there are more musical treats in store for Galston: 29 May for Three’s Company; 24 July for Sydney Symphony’s Principal Harp alumna Louise Johnson; 18 September for Viola Power; 20 November for the NSW Police Big Band.

To enquire about bookings phone Elizabeth Garlick at the church on 9653 2039 or Robert Harris on 0428 248 348.
