The Addams Family is traveling from Cemetery Ridge, Westfield, New Jersey, to visit Galston High School this July, in our school musical from July 25th–27th.
This musical comedy celebrates the eccentricity of every family, focusing on the Addams Family’s misadventures. The story revolves around Wednesday Addams, the ‘Princess of Darkness,’ who has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, intelligent young man from a respectable family.
Her parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams, have never met him. Wednesday confides in her father, Gomez, and begs him to keep her relationship a secret from her mother. This forces Gomez to do something unprecedented: hide a secret from Morticia. The entire family’s dynamics are tested on the night they host a dinner for Lucas and his parents and Wednesday requests that the family behave like “normal” people do.
To find out just how “normal” the Addams Family can be, you’ll need to come along and see for yourselves. With a mix of spider webs and dancing ghosts, this musical is more kooky than spooky and suitable for all ages. The show will leave you thinking that, perhaps, you do have a normal family after all.
