Kenthurst Combined Probus Club

Kenthurst Probus learns about Katleen Butler’s pivotal role in the Sydney Harbour Bridge

Members of Kenthurst Probus and their guests met in the Uniting Church building on Monday 21st July to hear an address from Bill Fitten, a guide at the Maritime Museum, who told us all about the life of Katleen Butler, confidential secretary to Dr.John Bradfield, engineer, who was responsible for the design and construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Kathleen was more than just a typist, she assisted in the tender process and design specification matters, becoming a virtual project manager. Her incredible contribution was recognised by Dr Bradfield in his official publications. Kenthurst Probus will meet on the third Monday in August in the same venue, at 9.30 AM. Guests are always welcome.
