St Edmund’s College Art Show Showcases Student Talent

The St Edmund’s College Wahroonga community recently enjoyed a sensational event – Colours in the WILD – the Eddie’s Art Show, celebrating all the incredible creations our students have been working on this year.

Attendees found the college hall transformed into a stunning display of skill and artistry – filled with birds, botanical beasts, blooms and plenty of surprises – each piece telling its own story and showing the imagination, humour, and heart of the St Edmund’s artists. Every corner was filled with colour and creativity; a celebration of all that makes Eddie’s so special.

The students (led by CAPA Coordinator Ms Minkley and the college art department) worked hard to create magical insects in Year 5/6, quirky birds in Year 7, pigeons in Year 8, jellyfish in Year 9, botanicals in Year 10, portraits in Year 11 and a whole collection of animal works from the Year 12 Creative Arts class.

Guests ranged from students and their families, staff, friends, alumni, neighbours and more. There was a magical Underwater Jellyfish Cave installation and our first small merchandise line for sale featuring the art of our talented students – including tote bags, magnets, coasters, cards and limited-edition art prints.

Guests enjoyed a delicious complimentary sausage sizzle, courtesy of McFarlands Quality Meats, Bakers Delight Hornsby and IGA Wahroonga. Volunteers from St Pius X College led the barbecue and art-making station where attendees had a fabulous time creating their own quirky bird.

It was a night to remember, and the College extends a big congratulations and thank you to everyone who contributed to this event.  St Edmund’s College is a Year 5-12 college that caters for young people with intellectual disabilities.

Art forms a significant part of the College program. Student designed merchandise will be available at the St Edmund’s stand at the upcoming Wahroonga Village Fair in December so stay tuned!
