Soroptimist International Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary

2021 signalled a return to “normal” for Soroptimist International of The Hills members as they met for their first Business Meeting of the year and Annual General Meeting.

Following the meeting Immediate Past President Cathy Tracey formally inducted new President Jacqui McLachlan who will now lead the Club for the next 2 years. Jacqui is a Kenthurst resident already known to local media for her “decorate your letterbox” initiative last Christmas.

As part of International Women’s Week celebations a Breakfast was held at Rydges, Norwest with guest speakers Mayor, Dr Michelle Byrne and well known and entertaining author and broadcaster Jane Caro speaking to this year’s theme “Choose to Challenge”.

With Covid restrictions eased numbers able to attend were increased and 85 guests attended. 2021 local Anzac Ambassadors from district High Schools also spoke about how the future will help to shape their career choices.

With focus on supporting and improving the lives of women and girls planning is underway for fundraising and advocacy projects that address on those initiatives.
