Local Indian Chef, Sony Sodhi, has a life-time passion for food and catering. Grew up in Punjab India with food a way of life, love, and care with family.
Migrated to Australia some 16 years ago, Sony studied hospitality at the John Carrick Hospitality College in Sydney, to become a qualified chef. Her internship was with a number of Indian restaurants, includes the then famous Nilgiris Indian Restaurant at St Leonards.
Sony worked with a number of food providers after graduating, including Gate Gourmet, who provide food services for the airlines at Sydney Airport, and the La Beach Hut Indian Function Centre at Dolls Point. Run her own Indian Food takeaway shop at the Seven Hills Plaza Shopping Centre for a number of years. She now runs Sony Tandoori Food and Catering Services, with small to medium sized Indian food and catering services.
Early 2020, Sony had a special appearance on Channel 7 Sunrise, with weatherman, Sam Mack, on Indian food. She was a 2021 finalist, Hospitality and Catering Award – Indian Australian Business and Community Awards (IABCA).
