The Christmas season will become even more jolly as Santa returns to the Hawkesbury for families to have the chance to have their photos taken with their pets and Father Christmas.
Running from November 14 to 15 and November 28 to 29, a professional photographer will take photos of families and their pets for $30. The package will include a digital copy of the photos.
To elevate the photo shoot and make it more festive, the Companion Shelter is offering customised pet tags for $10.
The photoshoots can be booked here: https://hawkesburycas.com.au/for-your-pets/pet-events.
The Hawkesbury City Council encourages locals to take part in the seasonal event and to expect new things coming:
“Santa Paws has become a popular local event since it started in 2023. Because of this, we are so excited to be able to offer even more Santa Paws photo sessions this year for families to get their annual Christmas photos with their pets,” a Council spokesperson said.
“All proceeds go directly to the Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter, allowing us to give the best care we can to the animals that come to stay with us.”
“In 2026 we hope to offer more events that encourage responsible pet ownership, like our desexing and micro-chipping programs, as well as fundraisers – like our Santa Paws photos – so that we can raise funds, but most importantly create awareness of the shelter to place as many cats and dogs as we can in their forever homes.”
The photo shoot will be held at the Hawkesbury Community Nursery, located at 10 Mulgrave Road, a quick walk from the Companion Shelter.
Owned and managed by the Hawkesbury Council, the shelter provides adoption services for dogs and cats from the Hills and Hawkesbury, along with nearby areas such as Penrith, Hornsby and Cumberland.
