Round Corner Village Planning Proposal

An invitation was sent to local residents about a redevelopment proposal for Round Corner Village to be held on 31st March.

The organisers of the meeting, Sam Russo, other shop owners and the development team, were very surprised by the high number of people who attended.

The large auditorium at the Dural Country Club was packed, with standing room only by the time the meeting started at 7.30. A presentation of the proposed development, together with traffic flows etc were shown.

Once it was question time, it was clear that a large majority of people in attendance were concerned about traffic congestion. Kenthurst Road was already bumper to bumper at peak times, and everyone appeared to see this as the major stumbling block. Other concerns raised were the heights of some of the buildings.

It was clear from the presentation that a lot of work had been done by the development team to sell the proposal to the public. The video of a walk through the new centre was very professionally done. One on one discussions were offered at the conclusion to try to answer more questions.

Once the proposal is lodged with Hills Shire Council, it will go on exhibition for community feedback.
