Rotary WPH & Cherrybrook

Christmas in July at Pennant Hills Golf Club on 28 July was fantastic. Rotary Club

We welcomed our Finnish exchange student, Lisa, who will be with us for 12 months. Our outgoing exchange student, Georgia, will be heading off to Chile in January 2024 for 12 months.

Rotary District Governor, Christine Owen, visited our Club to present her goals for the year and give us an update on the District. Our immediate past President, Janelle Craig, has been asked by DG Christine to lead the District ‘Say No to Domestic Violence Committee.’

The Club has a new initiative to plant a tree in honour of each guest speaker who addresses a Club meeting. Our Environmental Officer Kaye Carter presented DG Christine Owen with a tree which she planted on Friday 11 August.

On 2 August we visited the Rotary Club of Pennant Hills. Guest speaker, Tim Sowden, spoke about the Thornleigh Zig Zag Railway. Proceeds from a very successful BBQ at Bunnings Castle Hill on 12 August went to Rotary charities.

Our annual Trivia Night on 26 August at the Cherrybrook Community Centre was fully booked. Money raised will be donated to Blue Wren House, a domestic violence shelter and other Rotary charities.
