A new all-time price record for The Hills was set by Lumby Hampson with a magnificent lifestyle acreage at Dural selling for $11.1m at auction.
The multi-award winning property located at 2 Haven Place, Dural – which comprises of two luxury homesteads – attracted 10 registered when it went under the hammer. Several parties were active in the proceedings which started with an opening offer of $9m.
“It was a terrific result with a high number of bidders making offers at prices not commonly achieved in The Hills – even for the luxury acreage market,” said agent Kate Lumby, who also conducted the auction.
“It was a nail-biting finish. This is one of the finest homes in Dural and is grand in both scale and lifestyle. It’s a location that has become the Point Piper of The Hills.”
The 2ha estate was sold by retail veteran Bernie Brookes, a former Myer chief executive who now owns a majority share in the handbag outlet Collette.
The luxurious property attracted more than 50,000 views online with 52 private inspections carried out during the marketing campaign.
Master-built by Denton Homes and designed by Russell Scott, the lavish dual occupancy homes deliver unrivalled living featuring soaring 6m high ceilings and multiple living areas. In total, there are 10- bedrooms, eight bathrooms and garaging for eight vehicles.
The beautiful gardens, with a unique water feature, were created by Rolling Stone Landscapes.
The main home – which spans 951sqm – has a multi-zoned layout and includes a sophisticated formal lounge, open plan living/dining area plus billiards room with built-in wet bar. The sleek stone kitchen is fitted with Swiss imported V-ZUG appliances and features a separate scullery.
Outside is a vast all-weather alfresco terrace. It overlooks the award-winning custom pool featuring a transparent side panel, floating stepping stones, children wading area and island pavilion. The property also includes a flood-lit championship size tennis court with automatic ball launcher, children’s jungle gym and pretty rose-covered archway. A surprise inclusion is a 1950s decorated bar, huge home gym and sewing room.
“While it is not unusual for acreages in The Hills to have two homes, the dual occupancy design made it quite unique and resonated with buyers,” said agent Will Hampson.
“The second home – while slightly smaller at 663sqm – has been finished to a similar standard as the main residence. “
The result beats the previous suburb record of $10.85m for 19 Carters Road, which was set in March 2018.
