Arcadian Quilting Workshop Inspired by Aboriginal Dreamtime Art

Arcadian Quilting is getting back into full swing, with members returning to their vibrant schedule of stitching, socialising and community support. The group’s recent quilting workshop, inspired by Aboriginal Dreamtime artwork, has been a standout project—one that perfectly reflects the creativity and generosity at the heart of this long-running craft community.

The workshop focused on transforming a Dreamtime-inspired design into a quilt destined for one of AQ’s many charity partnerships. Early progress photos reveal a striking, colourful piece in the making—a testament to the talent and enthusiasm that fills the room each meeting. Although some members were unable to attend, the project has quickly become a source of pride and inspiration.

As Christmas decorations begin appearing in local shops and the year draws to a close, Arcadian Quilting members are busy as ever. Their quilting needles keep moving, driven by a shared belief that there is always someone in the community who could use a little warmth, comfort or kindness.

For the group, the festive season is a reminder of the simple joy of giving—sometimes a helping hand is the greatest gift of all. Members say that offering support, whether to a stranger or a newfound friend, is a gesture that enriches both giver and receiver.

Arcadian Quilting meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of each month.
