Oakhill Drive Public School Dance Their Way to Success

Oakhill Drive Public School Dance Their Way to Success

Oakhill Drive Public School, in Castle Hill, is a school that values the creative talents of their students. As well as gifted school band groups and an angelic choir, this year the school has two particularly successful dance troupes.

So far this year, the ODPS Junior and Senior dance troupes have performed at eisteddfods including the St George Dance Eisteddfod as well as the prestigious ‘Sydney Eisteddfod’ at the Sydney Opera House.

After vibrant performances at Sydney’s iconic Opera House, the troupes were awarded second and third places, receiving scores as high as 94 out of 100. Judges stated that the groups had brilliant energy, very good precision, and professional execution.

At the St George Dance Eisteddfod at Hurstville, the school troupes once again received second and third places. A pleasing result overall for the Oakhill Drive dance troupes.

Dances are choreographed and energetically taught to selected students by a trained dance teacher, Ms Candice Bandiera, who is supported by the school’s dance coordinator, Emily Koller.
