Kenthurst Preschool is inviting families to its first-ever Movie Night at John Benyon Park on Saturday, 2 May. The evening kicks off at 3 pm with carnival rides, children’s dance performances, and a variety of food options including a BBQ, or families can bring a picnic to enjoy on the grass.
The animated film ‘Sing’ will be shown on a six-metre inflatable screen, complete with movie-style popcorn, fairy floss, and bean bags to create a magical outdoor cinema experience. With Mother’s Day approaching, it’s the perfect opportunity for families to celebrate mums, grandmothers, and carers in a relaxed, festive setting.
The event is free, with a gold coin donation for the movie. All proceeds will support Kenthurst Preschool, a not-for-profit community preschool serving local families since 1967. Funds raised will go towards an Aboriginal garden and an immersive mural, designed with the children, to enhance the preschool grounds.
Director Kristen Coote said the preschool is excited to bring families together for a night of fun, film, and community connection. “It’s a wonderful chance for children to see friends outside the classroom and for families to meet others in the community,” she said.
All funds raised will be reinvested into the preschool to benefit children and families, reflecting the ongoing value of community-based education.
