The recently released 2025 Hills Shire Business Performance Sentiment Index (PSI) survey highlights the resilience and determination of local businesses within The Hills region.
This annual survey, conducted in collaboration with McCrindle Research, serves as a vital resource for monitoring business performance, future outlooks, and operating conditions, providing the Council with valuable insights into the local economic environment.
This year, 180 businesses from various sectors and sizes participated in the survey, reflecting a cautious yet hopeful sentiment towards the future. Respondents acknowledged the economic challenges they face, including rising costs, regulatory pressures, and concerns about infrastructure. However, they remain committed to navigating these hurdles.
The survey’s findings also highlight the distinctive advantages of The Hills Shire, including a strong community spirit, excellent connectivity, and access to high-quality local events and services. These factors contribute positively to the overall business landscape, providing a sense of stability and support.
Importantly, the survey confirmed that the initiatives put forth by the Council are having a tangible impact on local businesses. Over 25% of participants reported accessing government support in the past year, with 43% of those experiencing revenue growth as a direct result of the assistance.
The Council is committed to supporting local businesses through various initiatives, including access to demographic data, workshops, personalised support, and much more.
