Hills residents, mark your calendars for the upcoming Councillor Dr Mila Kasby
Mayoral Candidate and candidate for North Ward (Greens)
I’ve enjoyed working hard this term as your first Greens councillor in the Hills. Our community deserves to be heard. We should all have a say in shaping the place we call home and it has been a privilege to stand up for this. I’m a veterinarian and small business owner, Mum, volunteer bushfire fighter, lifelong resident of Kenthurst – and I love being part of this wonderful community.
North Ward is vast and the issues vary dramatically between the rural north and the suburban south. River communities have suffered repeatedly from damaging floods while others are still waiting for infrastructure and are choked with traffic congestion.
We need Councillors with integrity, who will protect the quality of life we have in the Hills, act on climate, value nature, support affordable housing where it makes sense and properly resource communities. I’ve stood for greater transparency, protection of green space, affordable childcare and housing, but have been opposed by a majority who doesn’t understand.
A balanced, inclusive Council that welcomes community input is better for everyone. We can’t expect different results if we keep electing the same people – but if you want it, you need to vote for it.

I Served on Hills Shire Council between 2008 – 2021, including 7 years as Mayor. I am a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. I am actively involved with many local community and service organisations and charitable causes and serve on a number or not-for-profit boards and committees.
