One of the Volunteers at The Community Environment Centre at Annangrove, who also writes our “Hidden in The Hills” column each month for Dooral Roundup, has recently self published a book entitled “Historic and Heritage Court Houses in New South Wales”.
A total of over 400 known Court House Buildings in NSW are presented in Lachlan Turner’s 410 page Book featuring colour photographs taken during his five years Statewide research into the distinctive architecture of NSW Court House Buildings. Brief historical details are included with each entry. Also included are many former court house buildings which have been re-purposed for a range of other functions.
Travelling widely throughout the entire State Lachlan and his partner Marion has recorded otherwise little known features of local Court Houses including their Coats of Arms, Plaques, Signs and Lock-ups. A comprehensive photographic cross-referenced index completes this unique historical Book.
“Historic and Heritage Court Houses in New South Wales” is not for sale from local bookshops. Lachlan has chosen to have his publication printed in Sydney and it can be purchased directly from him.
