Glenhaven Carols by Candlelight

Covid restrictions ease, Glenhaven to Carol on Glenhaven Carols by Candlelight 2021 – Sunday 12th December

Celebrating 21 Years, the annual Glenhaven Carols by Candlelight has become a fixture of Christmas in Glenhaven! Each year Glenhaven Oval fills with thousands of residents to celebrate the festive season.

“We are truly grateful for what the Carol’s event has become and the support the community shows each year. As Covid restrictions did not permit the event to run last year, there is much excitement in the Carols returning” said Mitchell Blue, a volunteer firefighter at Glenhaven Rural Fire Brigade and Chair of the Glenhaven Carols Committee.

“Each year the community comes together on this great night to relax and celebrate. Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to Glenhaven Rural Fire Brigade, The Hills SES, Rotary Club of Greater Hills, Hills Community Aid, Glenhaven Community Defibrillator Project and ONE80TC Rehabilitation Services” he said.

The Glenhaven Carols by Candlelight Committee and the Rotary Club of Greater Hills organise the event that showcases local talent, further promoting a sense of community.

Each year the Glenhaven Oval takes on a “Carnivale” atmosphere with rides and amusements as well as stage performances by local performers and young entertainment professionals who live in the area. The finale of the evening is a brilliant fireworks display. The event draws over 4,000 people to the oval. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s event must be ticketed and only for those that are fully vaccinated.

“Without the generous support of local businesses such as fireworks sponsor Louis Carr Real Estate, our stage sponsor Element ICT, West Pennant Hills Sports Club, Kindalin, and the Rotary Club of Greater Hills amongst many other local businesses, this event simply wouldn’t be able to proceed” said Mr Blue.

Reid the Music, Hills singer Cassidy-Rae Wilson, Jenna’s Singing School, Sister 2 Sister School of Singing and the combined North West Wind Ensemble and Castle Hill Youth Orchestra are all set to entertain.

On Sunday 12 December there will be food, rides and attractions with the fun starting at 4pm. Santa will be coming to town and the firework finale starts at 9.00pm.

“We look forward to seeing all the friendly faces of Glenhaven again on 12th December at Glenhaven Oval on Glenhaven Road” said Mr Blue.
